    Rare wartime barrel changing mitt for the MG34 and MG42. When firing the MG34 and MG42 continuously the German soldiers where presented with a harsh and difficult task: changing the barrel. The MG34 and MG42 where both made with a quick-change barrel and to help in the changing of the barrel these gloves where invented and issued. These gloves where issued with the accessories of the MG34 and MG42. It is simply used by placing the hand under the strap and using the pad to cover your hand when you grab the hot, sometimes even glowing barrel. The barrel is then placed in the Laufschützer to cool down and a cool new barrel is inserted. According to regulations, the barrel had to be changed after 150 rounds fired continuously. Hard to find item!

    Textbook Heer EM / NCO Infanterie visor by Spezialhaus Globus with the unit marking 1./M.G. Btl. 6. The visor is in very good condition with original insignia and chinstrap. The visor is a good size 57. Inside the sweatband there is nice unit marking to Maschinengewehr Batallion 6 which was attatched to the 9. Armeekorps and used within the 56 Infanterie Division during the 1940 campaigns in the West. The unit comprised two companies of motorbike infantry, three companies of heavy MG’s and a heavy company with 8 cm mortars and antitankguns. Very nice and unit marked example from a rare visor manufacturer!

    Textbook, untouched Heer EM / NCO Pionier or Pioneer visor by Extra Klasse. This is a nice example in untouched and uncleaned condition. The visor has some moth damages but is otherwise a nice undamaged example. The visor retains its nice thick felt body with black felt piping and original chinstrap. The sweatband is present and reinforced with a newspaper folded underneath. The sweatshield is damaged but clearly reads Extra Klasse which is a desired maker marking. There is a sizetag 55 inside which I deem the correct size. Nice example!

    Rare matching M31 canteen with original applied tan camouflage paint in very good condition. The messkit is nicely marked MKl which indicates production by Max Kamper, Lüdenscheid in 1940. The messkit is a rare tan camouflaged example. The camouflage paint is discolored on some points due to exposure to heat. The messkit was probably once completely covered in this tan camouflage paint but because the under layer the paint comes off rather easily in use. Extremely hard to find camouflaged M31 messkit which would be very hard to upgrade!

The pouch also contains its original tube for spare fillings. The pouch only misses the “Marschleistungen” measurement tool and the eraser which are virtually always missing from these sets. These sets were privately purchased from the manufacturer Eberhard Faber which designed this set together with some other products (such as the Krokierstifte) in a line with products designed for usage within the Wehrmacht (Spezial-Erzeugnisse für die Wehrmacht). The pouch itself is designed to be worn on the belt or to be attached to a button on the uniform, the pouch is manufactured from high quality brown coloured leather. Some stitching on the belt loop has come loose as can be clearly seen. Extremely rare set which are very collectible but very hard to encounter, especially in this condition! This set is coming from my own personal collection!

The pouch itself is designed to be worn on the belt or to be attached to a button on the uniform, the pouch is manufactured from high quality brown coloured leather.     Textbook MGZ40 optics case in full original paint. This is a good, used condition example with all desired details. Inside the original felt inlay is still present (one has come loose but comes with the case should be easy to glue it back in place), as is the original cleaning cloth and one of the two lenses. There is a brush which is in my opinion added. The case retains the original tan factory paint complete with type numbers on the top. Exceedingly hard to find or upgrade example !
