€375.00Rare original wooden souvenir box that was issued to the troops during Christmas in Karelia 1943. The wooden box is made of birch wood which is prevalent to the region. The side of the box is branded Weihnachten Kareliën 1943, ᛋᛋ-Geb.Div.Nord. The intention for the box was probably for tobacco or cigarettes. A hard to find original souvenir from 1943’s christmas in Karelia!

This set was commonly gifted to sons going to war, bought by officers or bought at barracks stores. This kit basicly had all the items a soldier would need to keep clean and organised. The Mica is a basic set of period personal items and was designed to fit inside the M31 messkit.

NCO/CO Heer issue signal whistle with lanyard
Heer issue signal whistle made from phenolic resin (Bakelite) and wood complete with its original field gray knotted lanyard in slightly used condition. Many commands where given with whistles during combat and the use and recognition of the different signals was something most soldiers would have known. Very hard to find Heer issue whistle which would compliment almost every NCO/CO combat display.

Unlike most of the wartime used flashlights the “knijpkat” doesn’t have a battery but uses a small internal dynamo. The mechanism is in working condition but sometimes it falters a bit which is not disruptive. The “knijpkat” is in further mint condition and would look perfect in a display
