These ammunition drums are often found with a late war modification on which the hooks for the Lafette connection are sawn off and the bare metal covered in tan paint. The drum is in very good condition with up to 85% of the original factory paint still present. The drum is nicely marked bzl 40 which indicates production by an unknown manufacturer. Excellent example!

This is a so-called transitional M31 variant mess kit: manufactured out of aluminium (M31) with simplified steel hooks as introduced with the M42 mess kit! The mess kit is nicely marked 0/0571/0116 44 which indicates production by Otto Honsel-Werke, Aluminiumwerk, Werdohl in late 1944! Note that the handle of the lid does not have the loop for the equipment strap. Rare RBNr. marked mess kit in used condition!

The belt is marked “135” on the end which indicates the length of the belt; 135 centimeters. The size of this belt makes this example extremely rare because this is an extreme size for the time. Textbook and rare example!

The compass is in working condition and often if not most of the time missing. The invasion money is for the French invasion. There are two of the original Silk ‘Escape’ maps. There is one two sided Holland, Germany 43/C and 43/D map but the rare one is the one sided France I.S.9. (WEA) map which is dated March 1944. This is a very nice and complete set in excellent condition, a must have for US and British Airborne collectors!

Speckled brown bakelite 6×30 Dienstglas container
€325.00A stunning speckled brown bakelite 6×30 binocular case. Later in the war when the Germans ran out of pigment for bakelite they switched over to different fillers. Sawdust was one of the filling materials used, creating a interesting speckled finish. The brown bakelite dienstglas containers where mostly found with tan 6×30 binoculars. The case is in very good, undamaged condition and has a very aesthetic and vibrant light brown colour which would nicely attribute a late war uniform setup.

Interestingly this case clearly shows the filler material of the Bakelite being shredded textile fiber. The case is complete with the leather belt loops on the back which could have been restored. €1,750.00Rare Kriegsmarine issue 7×50 armoured binoculars or Dienstglas in overall excellent condition. The binoculars are nicely marked blc which indicates production by Carl Zeiss, Jena. The binoculars retains all of its rubber (armoured) parts. A small portion of the thick rubber parts are cracked because of the drought of the material but are original to the piece. The binoculars are finished in the typical yellow/green Kriegsmarine paint and this remains for up to 90%. The sight is still very good and the lenses are clean and clear of visible damages. Nice and rare to find binoculars which were also used with U-boot crews!
