Named British Denison smock Airborne Troops marked A. Whyman LTD. 1942 size 7
New€3,000.00Beautiful combat worn British Denison smock Airborne Troops marked A. Whyman LTD. 1942 size 7. The smock is a textbook example in unwashed, combat worn condition. The shadow of the jumpwing on the sleeve is visible. The smock is named in the neck to ‘. H. Alderton’ with the first . indicating that there is a another letter folded underneath the name tape. This could be a great base for further research. The smock is a beautiful example in unwashed condition. It has dirt, sweat and grime in it which truly shows its character. The smock is a good large size 7 as was typical for the men fighting in Normandy and Arnhem. The smock retains its sleeve cuffs in good condition. I have had quite a number of nice smocks. But with most of the smocks in collections today being minty examples; this is a genuine worn example. Beautiful for a combat mannequin!

Rare British MKII helmet from Belgian Piron Brigade named Castermans
New€450.00Rare British MKII helmet from Belgian Piron Brigade named Castermans. The helmet was found in Bourg-Achard which is Southwest of Rouen in Normandy. The Belgian Piron Brigade landed on the 7th of August in Arromanches and Courseulles. The brigade was around Bourg-Achard around the 25st of August 1944 after which they crossed the Seine towards Rouen. The helmet is in good condition with its original liner and chinstrap. The helmet retains the remnants of the Brigade Piron flash which seems to be period removed. The helmet is named Castermans and according to my quick research with the help of a good friend here; it seems the clear match is the name Guillaume Castermans. Guillaume was a soldier with the 2nd Motorized company, 4th Assault platoon. He most probably served with a armoured car battalion and lost his helmet in Normandy. He died suddenly after the war on the 8th of June 1945 and is buried in Neerpelt. This is a great helmet which was sourced in Normandy and has a great base for further research. I don’t recall ever having such a researchable British helmet for sale. Hard to find and interesting piece!

Denison smock Airborne Troops size 7 A. Raven & Co, LTD 1942
€2,750.00Denison smock Airborne Troops size 7 A. Raven & Co, LTD 1942 in excellent condition. The smock was worn by a Paratrooper during operation Dragoon in southern France. The garment is a beautiful early example finished in hand painted and screen painted camouflage patterns. Interestingly this is a early example with the front portion cut out of two separate parts joined in the middle. One should not confuse this with a seam for a long zipper as both the edges are sewn at the Selveedge indicating this is not possible. Additionally none of the seams on the lower sewing have been opened or resewn. The garment has additional hand painted brown camouflage paint on top of the hand painted camouflage base. The sleeve wing was found with the garment but resewn by the previous collector. The tail is present and sewn to the back, not fixed with female newey studs. The label is nice and readable, the WD marking in the back is clear. On the lower portion there is a service number visible which is hard to make out. This is a beautiful early pattern Denison smock in a good large size with a history that would be hard to upgrade!

Woodwork find British paratrooper Stengun magazine bandoleer dated 1942
€325.00Woodwork find British paratrooper Stengun magazine bandoleer dated 1942. This is a textbook 1942 dated stengun bandoleer in good condition. These bandoleers were found a few months ago in a Italian housecleaning. They were all found together with their guns in what looks to be a Italian resistance stash. These bandoleers were probably dropped by the Brits and after the war simply forgotten. One can buy 1943 or 1944 dated examples every now and then but 1942 dated examples are more scarce. These bandoleers are all dusty, uncleaned and in unused condition. Nice opportunity to acquire a early example that has never been in a collection before!
