Shrapnell damaged Wehrpass grouping
Interesting Wehrpass grouping to Lorenz Reinert consisting of his Wehrpass, Arbeitsbuch, Gesundheitspass, Feldpost and his pass for the Baueinsatz Westwall in his original cover. The cover and most of his paperwork are all shrapnel or bullet damaged whilst it was carried in this cover. Reinert wasn’t a frontline soldier but was working on the Westwall near Bergheim in December 1944. This is most probably also the rough date his paperwork was damaged. The grouping would be a nice base for further research and very hard to find battle damaged paperwork!

One of the rarest accessories to any Wehrmacht artillery piece, for sure always missing! The 10th of may 1940 it was the first unit to breach to Juliana Kanaal fortifications in the Netherlands and pushed onwards to the Scheldt. After the 1940 campaign it was sent to the eastern front and saw actions right until the end of the war. The low number and the abbreviation “J.R.” on the aluminum Erkennungsmarke indicates a pre war manufacture. Most probably the Feldwebel that wore these went through the war from the start to end!
