  • Stunning Crete Fallschirmjäger document and photograph album

Stunnning photograph and document grouping to Gefreiter Erwin Forkel, 2. Kompanie Fallschirmjäger Artillerie Regiment 1 which is a part of the first Fallschirmjäger-Division. Forkel jumped onto the island of Crete and survived the landing and fierce battles following after. He was assigned with the Fallschirmjäger Artillerie Regiment 1 equipped with the  recoilless 7.5 cm Leichtgeschütz 40.

The grouping consists of a number of signed documents, awards and a stunning and highly impressive photo album with over 240 pictures on the Crete campaign.

The documents are all named to Erwin Forkel and signed by several high ranking and famous members of staff such as GeudensGeneral der Fallschirmtruppe Richard Heidrich and Generalleutnant Sponheimer (21.ID). The documents are both hand signed, manuscript and facsimile. The documents are for the Sturmabzeichen, Verwundetenabzeichen, Eiserne Kreuz 1. Klasse, Ostmedaille, Ärmelband Kreta, Fallschirmschützen Abzeichen and Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe. The documents come with Forkels original wound badge, EK1 and Kreta cuff title. Erwin Forkel was a highly decorated Fallschirmjäger!

The photo album is like the document grouping highly impressive. There are over 240 pictures, maps and postcards bound in a thick beaten and battered album that must have travelled with him a lot. The front of the album has the big title KRETA and is loose from the album(!). The album focusses a few pictures on barracks and jump training soon to move to Crete. The Crete invasion is well documented in the album, from the loading of planes to the jumping itself and the following battles. There are many non published pictures that show the combat conditions they where in. Many pictures show destroyed British tanks, dead British soldiers and fully equipped Fallschirmjäger in trenches with equipment and weapons.

The grouping would be a centrepiece in any Fallschirmjäger collection, especially for those who collect the early war items. The album speaks for itself and is even way more impressive in hand. A stunning grouping to one man that for sure that would be very, very hard to upgrade!

  • Extremely rare original SOE / OSS Jumpsuit or ‘Striptease suit’

Extremely rare, original British made Jumpsuit for use with the British SOE (Special Operations Executive) or US OSS(Office of Strategic Services). These jumpsuits, nick named ‘Striptease suits’ were worn on top of civilian clothing by secret agents dropped over occupied territory. These suits were to be worn during the jump and immediately discarded after. These coveralls are made in a heavy duck with hand screened camouflage pattern. Most of these rare coveralls found post war use as tank coveralls where the back pad pouch on the back was removed and a hood added which is the case here. The hood would be easily restored back by removal. This is a used example in good condition with three of its original zippers. The zippers are all original to the piece, with 3 pull tabs. The zippers are in good working condition. There is not another one on the market today where they are only rarely offered. For sure one of the most rare items I’ve ever had the chance to offer. A museum piece!

  • Unique original Battledress to the 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade

Unique offering of a original Period altered battledress to a member of the First Polish Independent Parachute Brigade. The battledress is a typical Polish used example with period altered pointed and opened collar, the shoulderstraps with aluminum Tresse in the rank of Sergeant is also period sewn to the garment. The collar insignia are a neat fit and fit exactly into the narrowed collar points which is typical when we look at period portrait photographs of Polish paratroopers. The collar tabs are of a early pattern and in good condition with the felt backing. The qualification badge is in good condition and is marked TOBIE OJCZYZNO 451 which is a very low number which is also seen with Arnhem veterans. The badge ring is marked Kirkwood & Son Edinburgh. The badge had its combat jump wreath soldered on at some point; but it broke off as can be seen on many original badges. The badge is affixed through the breast with a reinforced hole with backing wool. The shoulder titles Poland are nice original printed examples and are quite rare examples. They are handsewn to the sleeves. The Battledress is slightly altered; the collar points are narrowed and the front buttonholes are removed and sewn shut. There is a small hook underneath the waistband and the shoulders are slightly taken in and have been reinforced. The Battledress was found together with the blue grey beret when it was obtained from a Veteran approximately 38 years ago. The Beret is not the textbook Polish issue type, but is a wartime example with a original Polish capbadge. The Battledress looks to have all insignia period applied and has the typical Polish paratrooper modifications. A very hard to obtain battledress, even if you’re only counting the insignia – surely a once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain a full set!

The garment is a textbook unit made piece that was made in a small quantity with many period images of these smocks in wear ranging from wear in Italy to the eventual surrender in the Netherlands. The garment is a one looker wartime sewn example without postwar alterations. All of the single seam stitching is old and shows the age one would like to see. Superb and rare piece that would be very hard to upgrade and easily a centerpiece in any camouflage collection!

  • Superb EM Heer M40 field blouse and trousers

A stunning set consisting of a M40 field blouse and the trousers it was issued with. Both the tunic and trousers are in the same stunning condition and both in a desirable size suitable for most if not all modern mannequins. The field blouse is of the M40 type with all of its original factory sewn insignia. The early style breast eagle has been machine sewn on the top, flipped over and fully zig-zag machine sewn. The early style Litzen are also factory applied. The shoulder boards are in the same wool colour and white rayon piped indicating Infanterie. All of these insignia are original to the tunic, and have not been added, restored or anything like it. The early style breast eagle and Litzen indicate production prior to May 1940 when they switched to the lightgrey Litzen and field grey breast eagle. The tunic has not been shortened, modified, or restored in any way. I can not see any damages be it moth or repairs. Imo this tunic has never been worn.

The trousers are equally mint but have minor storage wear to them. The trousers are a nice size, just like the tunic. Notable is the early wool colour just like the tunic they are constructed of. This colour of wool was only used for trousers for a short period of time. The trousers are nicely marked and dated 1940.

This set has been found together and would make a killer early war display. Finding a original set is hard, especially a early M40 like this with the early style insignia configuration – a set like this is a one off and surely a centerpiece to any uniform collection!

  • Rare original 7.5 cm Pak – Stug 4, Pz. IV, Marder muzzle brake

The muzzle brake was once fitted on a 7,5 cm PAK gun which was a main gun designed for the Panzerkampfwagen IV, Stug III, and the Marder. The muzzle brake shows a heavy dent which was most probably caused by taking a hit. • Second pattern Luftwaffe Field Division smock with HG shoulderstraps

Excellent original second pattern Luftwaffe Felddivision smock in Splittertarn B camouflage with a period added matching pair shoulderstraps for a EM in the Hermann Göring division. The smock is a nice first pattern with steel dish buttons on the sleeves and the Splittertarn B printed on the reverse of Drillich fabric. The breast eagle is a typical original example showing the same patina as the garment and is factory sewn to the garment. There are no signs of the eagle ever having been replaced; resewn or stitch holes of previously sewn examples. The sewing is textbook, wartime insignia application. It originally was found in a estate sale in Kalamazoo Michigan and has been in the hands of a single collector eversince. The garment is a nice large mannequin size and would be a nice base for a combat mannequin – a nice example with matching shoulderstraps!

  • Rare original 7.5 cm Pak – Stug 4, Pz. IV, Marder muzzle brake

Extremely scarce mid war muzzle brake for the Panzerkampfwagen IV, Stug III, Pak 40 and the Marder. The muzzle brake was once fitted on a 7,5 cm PAK gun which was a main gun designed for the Panzerkampfwagen IV, Stug III, and the Marder. • M40 coastal artillery geometrical camouflage helmet

A killer brush painted three-tone geometrical camouflage helmet. Truly a typical and stunning example of a original geometrical camouflage helmet with bright colours. The helmet retains its original liner and chinstrap that are original to the helmet. The helmet shows several layers of paint which are topped with a geometrical camouflage pattern . The colours are vibrant and full of contrast, it really stands out! The helmet retains up to 95% of its original camouflage paint. The liner is named but it is hard to make out. The chinstrap is shortened but original to the helmet. The helmet was found years ago in Denmark and emerged from the woodwork after a newspaper ad. Due to the thick paint the shell markings are hard to see. The helmet is a M40, most probably NS production. Truly a exiting helmet that would be a centre piece to any camouflage helmet collection. For sure the best coastal artillery camouflage helmet I’ve found!

  • Superb EM Heer M40 field blouse and trousers

A stunning set consisting of a M40 field blouse and the trousers it was issued with. The set is completely untouched and is how I bought it straight from a german household clearer in in 2013. Both the tunic and trousers are in the same minty condition and both in a desirable large size suitable for most if not all mannequins. The field blouse is of the M40 type with all of its original factory sewn insignia. The early style breast eagle has been machine sewn on the top, flipped over and the bottom handsewn. The early style Litzen are also factory applied. The shoulder boards are white rayon piped indicating Infanterie. All of these insignia are original to the tunic, and have not been added, restored or anything like it. The early style breast eagle and Litzen indicate production prior to May 1940 when they switched to the lightgrey Litzen and field grey breast eagle. Inside the collar is a 1940 dated Kragenbinde and the bandage pocket is also filled with a 1940 dated bandage. The tunic has not been shortened, modified, or restored in any way. I can not see any damages be it moth or repairs. Imo this tunic has never been worn

The trousers are equally mint but have minor storage wear to them. I can see one small moth hole on the bottom that is approximately 2mm. It would easily be masked with any boot. The trousers have their original suspenders by Herkules and marked DRP on the leather tabs. The trousers are a nice big size, just like the tunic.

This set has been found together, has not been owned by any other collector and would make a killer early war display. Finding a original set is hard, especially a early M40 like this with the early style insignia configuration.

Spectacular SE64 M35 Heer helmet in ex chickenwire, sawdust three-tone ‘Normandy’ camouflage. The helmet is marked SE64 indicating production by Sachsichse Emaillierwerke. A textbook untouched and bleached early EM tunic for a member of the Afrikakorps. The tunic is a first pattern example with wartime factory sewn Litzen in strong worn condition. The garment is extremely sun bleached to nearly white due to long extensive wear in the African sun which is a typical feature for these been there garments. The breast eagle is resewn to the garment but it is a authentic example with the same patina. The Litzen are straight machine sewn with handsewn ends. The garment is a nice medium size fitting mist modern mannequins.
