The flask itself is a darkish green painted example marked ESB 44 which indicates production by Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin in 1944. This is a textbook late war configuration canteen with multiple types of leather, a gabardine cover with 3 press studs and a bakelite drinking cup marked gfc 1944. Very nice textbook late war example!
