  • Reference book for German equipment by Giancarlo Persic

    90.00

Their Second Skin by my friend Giancarlo Persic is the newest reference book for German wartime basic combat equipment. My friend Giancarlo is a lifetime collector who specializes in the M31 and M42 canteens and messkits. This book is a great reference with most of the German belt, buckle, Y-strap and k98 ammunition pouche variants. He clearly shows side by side photographs for the smallest details that are hardly noticable but obnoxiously interesting for some die-hard collectors such as myself. Some of the pieces from my collection have been featured in the book and I’m thrilled to be able to offer this reference to my customers. I warmly recommend any specialized equipment collector this book; not just because of the vast amount of pictures but also for the background information that really makes it stand out to other reference works. The book is a sealed paperback in the English language with 382 pages and a vast amount of pictures surely to soothe the need of any novice or advanced collector looking to expand his or her library! Needless to say; this is a must have for any equipment collector!

I have 18 examples available; when it is sold out I have to wait on a restock.

A very nice original photo album belonging to a Fallschirmjäger who served with FJR3 in Holland, Crete, Russia, Africa, Sicily, Italy, and Monte Cassino. Allthough FJR3 was formed in August 1940; the first photograph in the album clearly shows a Jäger portrait who is wearing several awards but most specifically a Dutch FN1922 holster which could only be a souvenir of the 1940 battle in the Netherlands and as such suggests he was transferred from a different Fallschirmjäger Regiment. The album contains 125 nice, clear photographs with many interesting subjects ranging from vehicles to tanks, heavy weapons, camouflage and equipment photos. The grave photos all point to units in Fallschirmjäger Regiment 3. This is a very nice photo album which would be a great base for further research!
