The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Staff Sergeant Louis F. Chase (ASN: 11016126), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 2d Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in the vicinity of Caumont, Normandy, France, on 14 June 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army. US M1 front seam swivel bale helmet named Mason, Earl H. 34202100 KIA 12.12.1950 Korea
€675.00US M1 front seam swivel bale helmet with IMP liner named Mason, Earl H. 34202100. Earl was born in 1911 and enlisted 9 April 1942. According to research Earl Mason was captured by the Germans and imprisoned in Stalag 3A and Oflag 3-6 Luckenwalde, Brandenburg, Prussia. The helmet is in good condition and retains its original liner and both straps. The helmet is a typical late war example. Interestingly other research shows that Earl H Mason was killed in action serving with 31st Infantry Regiment 7th Infantry Division on 12 December 1950 in Korea. He is remembered on the Wall of Rememberance at the UNMCK.
Nice helmet with a good base for further research!

€1,850.00Rare USAAF seat parachute named Whitcomb H Slate F/0 T 184533. The parachute and harness is in good used condition. The parachute still retains its harness, seat, canopy and risers. The springs for the chute bag are not present but easily replaced. The bag came with the harness and is named Flight Officer Whitcomb H Slate F/0 T 184533 ATC 955 D. I have included some hits I found which will be a good base for further research. It seems that he was a flight instructor at Douglas until early 44 when he became a Flight Officer flying in the ETO flying C-47 Dakota’s and later C-46 Commando’s. It is well possible he flew during D-Day, Market Garden and Varsity operations. This is a beautiful set that deserves further research!
