Grouping to Unteroffizier Herbert Mixdorf – Grenadier Regiment 169

New

Heer Unteroffizier grouping to Herbert Mixdorf – Grenadier Regiment 169.
The grouping consists of his M40 to M36 style field blouse, his awards, documents and notes of Nahkampftagen.

He received the war merit cross second class 22.7.1941, the eastern front medal 30.10.1943. The wound badge on 7.10.1944 and the iron cross second class on 10.10.1944. All these badges and medals are together with the grouping.

There are three separate lists of Sturmtage(3) and Nahkampftage(9) indicating he saw a lot of close quarter combat first hand.

The field blouse is a nice untouched example that started its life as a M40 field blouse which has a period added M36 style collar. The breast eagle is a textbook factory sewn example sitting neatly into the wool. The collar was modified by the addition of loops and hooks so it could be worn open. The shoulderstraps are nice M43 pattern examples which are RBNR (!) marked. There is some moth damage to the collar tabs and some small holes on the body of the blouse. Otherwise a nice untouched example.

There is another document which merely sums up information of the Wehrpass. It notes he took part in the invasion of Poland, guarding of the Westwall and the invasion of France with Infanterie Regiment 169. In 1941 he took part in the invasion of Russia. 29.9.1944 he was wounded with shrapnel fragments in the right knee and left foot at Rymanow at Karpathen.

A nice grouping with a equally nice field blouse and awards!
