German Cross in Silver – Heavy C.F. Zimmermann
Textbook Silver German Cross or Deutsches Kreuz in Silber manufactured by C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. This is a very early Deutsches Kreuz in Silver by Zimmermann, marked without any maker’s identification beneath the pin or clasp known as a ‘heavy’ variant. It remains in superb condition, exhibiting minimal wear on the swastika and wreath. The reverse side displays a typical patina, and the cross is entirely untouched, retaining its original state. This early example is of great interest due to its characteristic Zimmermann components, such as the directly soldered catch, faint indications of the typical 11 o’clock flaw, and a distinct date design. It was acquired by a British soldier and is part of his wartime souvenirs, including his identification tags. Most of the weighty early DKiS examples are usually attributed to Godet or Deschler. This variant is exceptionally rare and of exceptionally high quality, making it a true premium item!

This belt buckle is a nice pre war Luftwaffe belt buckle manufactured in aluminium by E. Ferd. Wiedmann, Frankfurt am Main. The buckle is a nice, pre war variant which has three layers of paint. The first is the silver factory coating. This was overpainted in tan camouflage paint, worn down and later in Luftwaffe blue paint. The buckle is unit marked Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Schweinfurt. Nice tabbed and pre war example with interesting details!

This tool was used for bending and beading the material prior to riveting. The method for producing a lot of Luftwaffe airplanes was with Sprengnieten; this is a hollow, explosive rivet which was ignited to expand and fasten the rivet. Hard to find tool!

During the D-Day invasion they were sent to Normandy where it fought alongside the 265 Infanterie Division. A portion of the Division fought during operation Cobra and the other secured the town and fortifications of Sainte Nazaire and Lorient. Hard to find original example! with a nice base for further research.
