Very nice and textbook M31 canteen which would be hard to upgrade!

Rare transitional Reichswehr messkit marked ESB 34
Very rare transitional Reichswehr period manufactured messkit in excellent condition. This model is a rare transitional example which would basically been produced after the M1910 and before the M1931 model. This transitional pattern has been produced in very small quantities after the introduction of the M1931 model. The messkit is finished in the typical field green paint for military use which retains for around 95%. The messkit is nicely marked ESB 34 which indicates production by Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin in 1934. The messkit nicely named and comes together with its original 1938 dated strap. This is the first time I have had the chance to offer this rare pattern!

The messkit has lost most of its factory paint. Finding pre 1935 examples is exceedingly hard as most if not all of them were used up during the following war. Rare opportunity to acquire a genuine 1931 dated example!

The canteen is all matching marked VDNS 40 which indicates production by by Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke/Nickel-und Stahlwerke, Schwerte in 1940. VDNS is a rather hard to encounter manufacturer! The canteen features aesthetic light brown coloured straps. Excellent example!

A mint bayonet marked 43 ffc indicating production by Friedrich Herder Abr.Sohn, Solingen. The bayonet is lightly(!) sharpened at some point but is otherwise exactly how it left the factory. The bayonet has not been reblued and has a minty look to it with most of the original grey finish remaining. A very nice late war bayonet with very nice red brown grips!

The bayonet is matching to its scabbard with the serial 519 and has nice clean bakelite grips. Jos. Corts marked bayonets are one of the rarest K98 bayonets! The bayonet is in very good, uncleaned, unsharpened and matching (!) condition.

Speckled brown bakelite 6×30 Dienstglas container
A stunning speckled brown bakelite 6×30 binocular case. Later in the war when the Germans ran out of pigment for bakelite they switched over to different fillers. Sawdust was one of the filling materials used, creating a interesting speckled finish. The brown bakelite dienstglas containers where mostly found with tan 6×30 binoculars. The case is in very good, undamaged condition and has a very aesthetic and vibrant light brown colour which would nicely attribute a late war uniform setup.
