The canteen is a typical late war example with a rough wool cover and with unusual red/brown coloured leather straps. The flask itself is marked SMM 45 which indicates the canteen is produced by Süddeutsche Metallwarenfabrik, Mussbach in 1945. Rare 1945 dated example!

Rare M31 messkit marked 0/0571/0116 44
€200.00Late war produced M31 mess kit or “Kochgeschirre M 31 (Alum.)” in excellent condition. This is a so-called transitional M31 variant mess kit: manufactured out of aluminium (M31) with simplified steel hooks as introduced with the M42 mess kit! The mess kit is nicely marked 0/0571/0116 44 which indicates production by Otto Honsel-Werke, Aluminiumwerk, Werdohl in late 1944! Note that the handle of the lid does not have the loop for the equipment strap. Rare RBNr. marked mess kit in used condition!

The spray painted letters on the front are very aesthetically pleasing and would nicely compliment a medical display! Perfect example!
