Late war Leutnant mapcase with original contents
€245.00Very nice late war simplified map case manufactured out of brown pebbled leather. The mapcase is complete with its carrying sling which is virtually always missing. The mapcase contains its original contents: A pencil, two period ball pens, a single Leutnant shoulder board and a clear mapcase insert dated 1939. Very nice untouched grouping!

The flask itself is nicely marked MN 43 which (most probably) indicates production by Metallindustrie GmbH. Neunkirchen-Saar (MENESA) in 1943. The canteen comes in a typical late war configuration with a phenolic resin cup. Nice late war example!

The flask and the felt cover are both nicely marked EEF 41 which indicates production by Ewald Eigenbrod Aluminium-und Metallwarenfabrik, Freiling in 1943. In textbook configuration with an excellent black urea resin (type of bakelite) cup marked 46/S which is usual for this manufacturer. Excellent matching canteen in a condition that would be very hard to upgrade!

Rare M31 breadbag manufactured with British webbing in Litzmannstadt
€225.00Very nice “tropical” M31 breadbag in good condition. This breadbag is most likely made in the Ghetto of Lodz, Poland which the Germans renamed into “Litzmannstadt”. They are made using parts of captured British equipment items. These British equipment items where left in 1940 when the (BEF) British Expeditionary Force evacuated to the United Kingdom. The Germans sent this British equipment to Litzmannstadt for recycling and a lot of work was put in disassembling every British equipment piece and recycling the individual parts into German army equipment. Y-straps, A-frames and rucksacks are a few of the items made in Litzmannstadt. Very nice original M31 breadbag!

Well shot, lighted and focussed images showing loads of details. The rear of the images show some press markings and a written note in the back. Several images show the inside of the Pioneer-Kaserne in Klosterneuburg which was the base of this unit. Also shown is the Nordbahnbrücke which was blown up during the retreat from the Soviets in 1945.
