This being a late example (late 1944) it is produced with two convex halves in stead of one convex and one hollow. The canteen is in very good nearly unissued condition. The canteen is nicely coated in blue grey enamel. The strap is in good supple condition albeit it has one or two surface cracks, nothing serious. A great textbook M42 canteen executed in blue grey enamel!

Three tone Normandy camouflage Q60 M35 Heer helmet
A very nice three-tone Normandy camouflage helmet marked Q60 indicating production by Quist. The helmet retains up to 80% of its original camouflage paint and its original liner. The helmet retains very vibrant camouflage colours and is a nice eyepiece! The helmet had white paint cleaned off externally. The helmet was left behind in Hilvarenbeek, The Netherlands and came out of the woodwork 3 years ago. The helmet is the smallest size ever made for the German army and are very rare, just as the size 68 and 70 helmets. On the back of the helmet a stress crack can be seen. A nice unusual camouflage helmet in a rare small size!

Stunning EF62 M40 Rautarn wire camo
A stunning original rough overpaint with wire camo helmet. The helmet has a lot of character, and a lot of interaction between the shell and the wire. This helmet is nicely named inside Pi. (Pioneer) Anton Schumatschek. The helmet has a lot of character, especially in hand. The helmet retains a rough overpaint with brown, red and green tones. The paint seems to be mixed with sand. The wire is attached to the helmet by 4 holes drilled in the shells rim. One of the nicest helmets I’ve had the chance to offer for sure!

Large medical canteen (Labeflasche) marked W.A.L. 43 and RB-Nr. 0/0656/0005
A rare late war large medical canteen marked W.A.L. 43 indicating production by Westfalische Aluminium Industrie, Junger & Co., Lüdenscheid and RB-Nr. 0/0656/0005 indicating Deutsche Lederwerkstätten GmbH, Pirmasens. The canteen is complete with all straps and in very good condition. The leather on this canteen is so called pigskin and has one dry spot on the strap but unless you intend to start using it every day it should not be a problem. The stitching halfway on the strap is also interesting. Due to material shortages later in the war there was a shortage of long strips of leather. Hence the strap was made out of two separate scraps. This is not a repair! A rare and flawless medical canteen in very good condition.

Bloodstained US M1942 jump jacket ID’ed W2314
NewUS M1942 jump jacket ID’ed with two different laundry codes, one W2314 and another hard to read inside the neck. The code W2314 indicates Fred Weaver 33272314, 464th Parachute Field Artillery Battailon of the 17th Airborne division. I can not make out the other laundry code, but that would be up to the buyer. There are several wartime rigger style repairs to the garment, and a number of blood stains all over the garment. The jacket shows insignia for the 101st Airborne Division. So Weaver was placed to another unit from the 101st or it was restored as such. I will leave it to the buyer but the sewing on the eagle patch looks old. The zipper is a restoration but functions properly and won’t show on a mannequin. The garment is a textbook, combat worn example.

NewMG34 u. MG42 ammunition case in two tone camouflage marked Erg. Kast. 34 Nr. 898 indicating it was used as a Ergänzungskasten or spare part box. These boxes would be issued with every unit. The fact that it is marked 34 indicates it contained parts for the MG34. With the MG34 being mostly being replaced with the MG42 for mobile units, it most probably was part of the Küstenartillerie. The piece comes from the Normandy region and is in excellent condition. Most of its period applied two tone camouflage pattern is clearly visible. Very nice example that would be very hard to upgrade!

KIA US 3rd Infantry Division helmet liner by Firestone
NewKIA US 3rd Infantry Division helmet liner by Firestone. This is a typical US M1 helmet liner in strong used condition. The sides have wartime painted US 3rd Infantry division insignia. Interestingly it shows that a second set of decals was carefully painted over, before stencilling the insignia as we can see it today on top. This is a typical wartime insignia application. The top of the helmet shows two holes which are correlating to the sweatband which is a blood stained example. This indicates the original wearer of the helmet was wounded or killed in action. Sadly the helmet has no name inside for research. The helmet originally was found in the Elzas area where the 3rd Infantry division saw heavy fighting. Rare piece.

Polizei Soldbuch to Hanz Metger Kampftage im Bandeneinsatz
NewPolizei Soldbuch to Hans Metzger with Kampftage im Bandeneinsatz.
His erkennungsmarke was marked Hipo. E. Batl. Serbien 469. He served with Polizei Wach Bataillon XVII. This unit saw heavy action fighting Partisans with SS Grenadier Regiment Schill in Slovakia. There is a large number of entries of Kampftage in Bandeneinsatz in Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia.
Metzger would be qualified for the Bandenkampfabzeichen in Bronze because he had more then enough Kampftage in Bandeneinsatz. But it seems he was never awarded it. This is a nice Polizei Soldbuch with a large number of entries.

Btl. 7 indicating Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 7. Hipp had a interesting moustache. His Soldbuch was first filled in 31 August 1939. Interestingly a Edelweiss was glued inside the Soldbuch page 1.

Rare late war MG34 u. MG42 ammunation case carrying bag
NewIncredibly scarce ammunition carrying bag for the MG34 and MG42 ammunition boxes. Manufactured from late war red striped material same as used for MP44 magazine pouches. These carrying bags where designed to carry a set of two ammunition boxes. This is a single bag which was worn with a single box which seems to have happened often later in the war. These bags where mostly used by Fallschirmjäger and Waffen-SS troops later in the war. These bags are incredibly scarce and this is a excellent, lightly used example.
The ammunition box is not a part of the sale.
