Lee Towery enlisted on 23 July 1940. He was born in 1918 in Colorado Texas. He was trained at Fort Benning. He earned several awards;

He served in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

Quoting the file; ‘He was a rifleman, jumping behind enemy lines from a transport plane for the purpose of cutting communication lines and capturing strategic points.’
