Rare Nürnberg desk eagle by Metallwarenfabrik Emmerich & Schöning, Berlin attributed to SS Sturmführer in Stettin 1935
Rare Nürnberg desk eagle by Metallwarenfabrik Emmerich & Schöning, Berlin attributed to SS Sturmführer in Stettin 1935. This is a typical second pattern early Nürnberg desk eagle made by Metallwarenfabrik Emmerich & Schöning, Berlin. The eagle retains its period marble base complete with its original plaque attributed with the following text; Seinem Sturmführer zum Geburtstag in Treuert Kameradschaft gewid. der SS Sturm 1./P/13 Stettin 1935. A quick google search leads to two different units that were stationed at Stettin in 1935 being the SS Standarte 9 ‘Stettin’ and the SS- und Polizeigerichts XXIV Stettin. With some further research I am sure the exact unit and company of the placque could be identified and thus possibly the original owner of this desk eagle. The eagle is in excellent condition complete with its original base. Superb piece with excellent attribution!
