M42 helmet named Piontkowski with type 2 Waffen-SS helmet cover

New

M42 helmet named Piontkowski with type 2 Waffen-SS helmet cover in used, as found condition. The helmet is a typical late war example marked CKL66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke Thale. The helmet is named F. Piontkowski in the neck. The helmet retains its original liner and chinstrap and according to the collector I bought it from found together with the cover. The helmet cover is a typical late war example made in Oakleaf B camouflage. The helmet cover is fragile but mostly intact. The clips and springs show signs of long term bad storage with one half clip remaining. The springs inside the tunnels are rusted to the fabric itself. The cloth of the cover is somewhat fragile but still displays very nicely with good colours. If you’re after a original helmet cover with helmet which displays well but does not break the bank this is the helmet set for you!
