Late war Fallschirmjäger smock in Sumpftarn found in Vaux sur Sure
Late war Fallschirmjäger smock in Sumpftarn found in Vaux sur Sure, under Bastogne. This smock was most surely worn by a member of the 5. Fallschirmdivision who defended the southern perimeter of Bastogne. This smock was part of the collection of Jean Marie Krywanski who sourced many items from the Bastogne region in the 70’s and 80’s. The smock was originally found in Vaux Sur Sure which was heavily fought over by the 5. Fallschirmdivision. The breast eagle was most probably period cut out by a US soldier as a souvenir. There is a piece of Splittertarn sewn over this hole which can be removed if desired. This restoration is a old one and done by the collectors mother some 20-30 years ago. The smock is in good used and unwashed condition otherwise. This is a nice and historic smock in good used condition, nice for a combat mannequin!
