German ID disc or Erkennungsmarke marked 1. Jnf. Ers. Btl. 65 #2129 indicating 1 Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 65. This unit was placed on the Dutch coast as a defence force in September 1944. There it was subordinated to Grenadier Regiment 1222 under the 180 Infanterie Division. Then it was named to Infanterie Ersatz und ausbildungs Bataillon 65 in Delmenhorst. The unit was then fielded and fought in Nordwohlde and Syke near Bremen.
