    A very nice pair of pre war goggles as issued to motorcyclists in the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. The goggles are with a nice set of lenses without cracks. The strap has lost most of its elastic but can easily be displayed on a small sized helmet without falling down. These goggles are the finishing touch to a early war Kradmelder mannequin.

The map shows in detail every French position and fortification and was used in the 1940 campaign. The map is marked and was used by the 268 Infanterie Division. Very hard to find these type of drawn into maps!

  • Leather carrying strap for Bakelite 6×30 Dienstglas

    Scarce leather carrying strap for the CXN bakelite 6×30 Dienstglas. Unlike all other wartime optical carrying straps, these have a second set of holes where a specific rain cover with its own set of studs would be attached. Scarce strap that is impossible to find!

    German machine guns were commonly supplied with soaking cans for muzzle components the make cleaning easier. The soaking medium was kerosene, referred in the German literature as Petroleum. The practice went back at least as early as the MG 08.  The MG 34 soaking can was designed to hold the recoil booster assembly, which consists of the flash suppressor, recoil booster housing, and recoil booster cone.

  • Wehrpass grouping Panzergrenadier Lithuania, Stalinlinie and Leningrad

    Nice Wehrpass to Walter Hain, Panzergrenadier in Schützen Regiment 113 which was part of the 1. Panzerdivision. Walter Hain was born 29.8.1911 in Siegen, Nordrhein Westfalen. He had a drivers license and was awarded the S.A. Sportabzeichen. He was drafted 2.4.1941 to Schützen Ersatz Regiment 81. Received training for the rifleman and radio operator. He was promoted to Gefreiter 1.11.1942 and to Obergefreiter 1.12.1943. He was awarded the Panzerkampfabzeichen in bronze in 1941 with the 1. Panzerdivision. He was wounded 29.8.1941 noted as Paksplitter Linkerarm indicating he received shrapnel to the left arm while he was in Leningrad! He was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz 2.2.1942.

    The Wehrpass indicates Hain took part in the following battles;

    23/24.6.41 Following battles of southern Lithuania
    25.6.41 Tank battle of Rossienie (Visiliskis)

    Very nice and decorative shoulderstraps for a Hauptfeldwebel in a Fallschiurmjäger unit. The straps have a nice pair of red loops most probably for a Offiziersanwarter.

  • Ardennes Death Card KIA St. Vith/ Rohrbusch FJR9

    Impressive death card to Georg Schmerold, Obergefreiter and Gruppenführer in a Fallschirmjäger-Panzerjäger unit. Killed in action 17th of January 1945 as a member of the 14. Kompanie of Fallschirmjäger Regiment 9.

    Schmerold‘s death is mentioned in Opfergang Deutsche FallschirmjägerRudi Frühbeisser page 290; Nördlich von Iveldingen im Bereich der 13. Kp. kommt es zu einem schweren Rückzugsgefecht. Der Kp.-Chef Obltn. Schenk kann den ständig anstürmenden Amerikaner nicht lange aufhalten. Der alter Ogfr. Scharanowski fällt dabei. 17 Mann unter ihnen der Fähnrich Max Ursprung werden vermißt. Bei der 14. Kompanie, die an die 13. Kompanie anschließt, fällt der Jäger Bach während des Angriffs durch Herzschuß und Obergefreiter Schmerold durch Kopfschuß. Aus den Rückzugsbewegungen ist zu ersehen, daß der Amerikaner unbedingt in Schoppen eindringen will. 800 Meter westlich von Schoppen an der Straße nach Faymontville liegt genau gegenüber der Höhe 548 links eine kleine Waldparzelle. Dort wird der angreifende Amerikaner aber von der “Kampfgruppe Schenk” abgewehrt.

     

    Schmerold was killed by a bullet to the head at 26 years of age.

  • Wehrpass 4. Panzerdivision Poland/France/Italy

    Nice Wehrpass to Kurt Hühne, Unteroffizier in Schutzen Regiment 12, 4. Panzerdivision. The Wehrpass indicates Kurt took part in the following battles;

    1939 – Poland invasion
    1940 – France
    1943 – southern France
    1943 – Italy
    1944 – Italian invasion area

    Kurt was shot through the lung on 18th of September 1939, awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz and the Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwerter 2. Klasse.

    All in all a very nice Wehrpass with a impressive list of attended battles and a great base for further resource.

  • Wehrmacht issue blanket

    A original German army issue blanket. These blankets where issued and used members of the Heer and Waffen-SS. The importance of blankets in a war is very underestimated and where more then often the only comfort a soldier would have.

    This blanket is in used condition, it has a few repairs and holes and the ends are fraying a bit. None the less, this is a original Wehrmacht issue blanket that would be perfect for a personal effects display and very nice correctly folded or strapped onto a Tornister or Rucksack!

    A very nice pre war Dienstglas by Hensoldt, Wetzlar. The Dienstglas is complete with its strap and finished with brass. The vision is clear and the right eyepiece still retains the Strichplatte. A nice used set in good, combat used condition!

    Near mint Luftwaffe belt buckle Berg & Nolte 1936. Near mint example with all the frosting remaining. A major downside is that the swastika was flattened at the end of the war. Otherwise a perfect droop tail buckle that would be very hard to upgrade!
