The garment is in very good light worn condition and comes with the Tie and Garrison cap found together with the jacket. The garment is named Gerstner which could be a good base for further research. The Jump wing oval indicates he served in a Airborne Artillery Battalion. For me, the favorite detail on this garment is the British half Pennies used as backing for the Collar disc insignia. Typical detail for a soldier who was stationed in the UK prior to D-Day. The garment is a killer piece that would very nicely display in any Airborne focussed collection!

The garment retains its original factory sewn insignia. The garment has no damages, alterations or modifications and is in perfect condition. The size is a good medium fitting most if not all modern mannequins. This is a superb M42 field blouse, a typical garment as issued and worn by members of the Heer in the Wehrmacht. Every detail is textbook and finding a better example would be impossible!

As the war progressed the Germans went to great lengths to ensure no garments were left unworn. The early and pre war garments manufactured in large sizes were still in stock and remade into smaller, more common sizes. The garment retains its period tailor sewn insignia including the sewn in shoulderstraps. The garment is in excellent condition and would be a nice study subject for any cloth collector!
