  • Rare EU Deactivated MP38 by Erma dated 1940

Excellent and textbook EU-Deactivated MP38 submachine gun. This example is a typical, early 1940 dated example marked 27 indicating production by Erma, B. Geipel, G.m.b.H. Waffenfabrik Erfurt. The MP38 is textbook in all parts; from the machined upper receiver to the cast aluminum lower to the early smooth magazine. The MP38 comes with the second pattern retracting handle which was a mandatory change on all MP38’s made on 25.7.1942. The MP38 is not fully number matching but is a rare beast as is. The MP38 was never refinished and is in its original, as found condition; besides it being deactivated ofcourse. The mp38 is deactivated with the barrel, bolt and trigger welded solid without moving parts other then the functional folding stock. The MP38 comes with a Dutch deactivation certificate. This is a very rare piece, that would be hard to upgrade. Of 14.000 MP38’s being produced in 1940, this is one of the very few that is left and would make a great addition to any collection!

Pickup is preferred, shipping within the Netherlands at cost of quality packaging and shipping at your own risk. I will not and can not ship this outside the EU.

These pouches are typically seen in usage by Fallschirmjäger’s along with the 3 cell variant of these first pattern pouches. For sure the rarest type of MP38 magazine pouch I have ever had the pleasure to offer and which would be completely impossible to upgrade!

Stunning and textbook M38 paratrooper or Fallschirmjäger helmet in the tell-tale sawdust two-tone camouflage pattern as used with the 6. Falschirmjäger Regiment. The helmet is marked ET71 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke Thale with its factory placed size 60 liner with period attached chinstraps and its original bolts. The helmet was factory finished in feldgrau with a single decal which can still be seen underneath the paint. The helmet was camouflaged between April and June 1944 together with most of the regiments helmet which were all camouflaged in one batch. The helmet retains 90% of its wartime applied factory paint. The helmets liner is named to the partly readable Hau****** Flint and is marked Russland, Normandie and Holland indicating the original wearer of the helmet was a veteran of these campaigns. The 6. Fallschirmjäger Regiment was one of the most well known German paratrooper units during the war being stationed as a defensive force in Normandy prior to the invasion, fighting the 101st Airborne division, to retreat through Carentan, fighting around Geel, along Hells Highway during Market Garden, Woensdrecht and Hoogerheide and the Parachute drop during the Ardennes offensive. The helmet was originally found in the Netherlands and is a textbook and excellent example of a FJR6 camouflage helmet that would be very hard to upgrade and I wouldn’t mind to keep for my personal collection!

The pockets are lined with field grey Drillich material with overprint pocket flaps. The pocket is lined with hand screened plane tree. The garment is typically sewn on the sides with a double needle seam and the rest finished with a single needle machine. The rayon drawstring is original to the piece and woven through machine sewn eyelets. All of the foliage loops are fully intact except for one corner which is loose. The sleeves are finished with hand screened 3/4 plane tree. The elastic on the sleeves and waist is functional and has never been removed or replaced. The elastic is tunneled in hand screened plane tree and has never been opened. The smock has few tears at the armpits but is in overall good condition. The camouflage print is strong and full of contrast and the colours vibrant. The print on this smock is always with a very slight green tone, this is not due to fading but a colour scheme we can see with all 3/4 overprint material. The 3/4 plane tree camouflage smock is hard to find compared to other plane tree variants.
