    A very nice 1940 dated MG34 spare parts box or E-Kasten. This box would have been filled with a variety of spare parts. On the top it is marked with “E” for Ersatzteilkasten. The box is in very nice condition with most of its wartime factory applied paint. On the side it is marked Lafettekasten f. MG34 indicating that this was the spare parts box for a MG34 on a Lafette or tripod. The box remains all of its leather tabs and is imo a stunning example. Hard to upgrade!

  • 1936 dated matching K98 bayonet named to W. Lietz

    A very nice matching k98 bayonet marked S.178 indicating production by Gebr.Heller, Marienthal in 1936. It retains most of its original blueing and is unsharpened. This bayonet is named to W. Lietz who carved his name in the wooden grip of the bayonet. The bayonet had a wartime conversion where the numbers on the scabbard restamped to match the bayonet. This was done during the war by a unit armourer because Lietz probably lost his bayonet and probably to match the number noted in his Soldbuch. A nice and unique named bayonet in good used condition!

  • Modified ammunition drum for the Zwillingslafette MG34

    Modified ammunition case for the MG34 Zwillinglafette. The drum is in very good condition with up to 90% of the original paint still present. These ammunition drums are often found with a late war modification because the Zwillingslafette was not really used that much. With this modification the mounts for the Lafette were removed with a saw. This happened to hundreds if not thousands of these cases. Removing the hooks left a piece of bare unpainted metal which ofcourse in true German fashion was swiftly often covered in tan paint.

    A very nice tan camouflaged ammunition box for the MG34 and MG42. As the Germans occupied Czechoslovakia they took over most of their military stocks including weapons and equipment. This box for the Czech ZB 37 machine gun or MG 37 (t) originally had a slope welded inside to stack the ZB ammunition properly. This slope was removed by the Germans and the leftover holes filled in prior to a tan repaint. A rare box to encounter in very good condition with most of the wartime tan camouflage!

    Soldbuch to Reiter Helmut Berlinghof. His Erkennungsmarke was marked Reiter-Ersatz-Schwadron 6. His Soldbuch was first filled in 28 April 1942. He first served with Gebirgsjäger Regiment 98, Gebirgs Pionier Bataillon 74 and Gebirgsjäger Veterinär Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 18.  He was wounded numerous times and contracted Malaria later in the war.

    The back of the Soldbuch and the award page are missing, most probably a preparation to being taken prisoner in 1945.

    He was issued a number of different K98 rifles and later a P38 pistol. Hard to find Gebirgsjäger Vetenarian Soldbuch!

    Soldbuch to Pionier Erich Köstner.  His Erkennungsmarke reads 1.Pi. 198 / 102. He entered the war on 24 september 1940 with 1 Kompanie Pionier Bataillon 198. This unit fought with the 98 Infanterie Division. This division was destroyed on 10 may 1944 after heavy fighting over the Krim. It was posted as coastal defence in Italy. It fought at Rimini and later retreated to Pieve di Cadore where it surrendered.

    He was issued a rifle named f. E36 most probably indicating a French Mas 36 rifle. He was issued a heavy overcoat, gloves, sunglasses, dustgoggles, hbt uniform and sport shorts.

    Viktor Dohmen was first drafted in 1939. He entered service with Grenadier Regiment 36. He had a number of units but the last unit was Feldersatz Bataillon 57 and Panzergrenadier Ersatz Bataillon 4. He also served with a guard bataillon under Stalag 6.

    He was wounded in September 1943 and was awarded the black wound badge.

    He most likely served under the 6. Panzerdivision towards the end of the war. He has a postwar British zone identification book. Nice Soldbuch for further research!
