Rare wartime barrel changing mitt for the MG34 and MG42. When firing the MG34 and MG42 continuously the German soldiers where presented with a harsh and difficult task: changing the barrel. The MG34 and MG42 where both made with a quick-change barrel and to help in the changing of the barrel these gloves where invented and issued. These gloves where issued with the accessories of the MG34 and MG42. It is simply used by placing the hand under the strap and using the pad to cover your hand when you grab the hot, sometimes even glowing barrel. The barrel is then placed in the Laufschützer to cool down and a cool new barrel is inserted. According to regulations, the barrel had to be changed after 150 rounds fired continuously. Hard to find item!

Nice original late war MG34 and MG42 tool case or Werkzeugkasten. The case is nicely marked sxb 1945. These boxes where issued within every unit for the maintenance on the machineguns. The case still retains up to 80% of its original finish and some pitting on the top. Very nice 1945 dated ammunition cases for the MG42!

Very nice and rare BAGS WATERPROOF DOUBLE TEXT GENERAL PURPOSE TYPE 1 .

The Bag is a rectangular shaped item made from a double layer of waterproof medium weight olive drab # 3 (khaki) sateen cloth. It features a throat made from a single layer of waterproof sateen, so designed that when drawn shut with the cord provided for this purpose, it is completely waterproof. There is an additional closing strap with square buckle that wraps around the entire bag when filled. Development took place in 1944 and although the authors have never seen any photographs illustrating the item, it can be assumed that such piece of equipment may have been used during Operation “Neptune” along with the series of other Waterproof Bags, Special Purpose (used to protect equipment against rain, spray, and immersion during amphibious operations).
General dimensions are 20“ x 16” x 16” and Quartermaster Corps Stock No. is 24-B-1258.

As the item was produced by the Quartermaster Corps, neither an official Medical Department Item Number nor a contents list exists. However, The Quartermaster Supply Catalog QM 3-4, 1945, describes it as an ALL-PURPOSE Bag, used for carrying miscellaneous equipment such as wool blankets, surgical equipment, dressings etc.

Very nice lightly worn USAAF TROUSERS, FLYING INTERMEDIATE TYPE A-11A size 32 dated 18 Dec. 1944. Very nice example complete with suspenders that would nicely attribute to a late war USAAF mannequin!

Beautiful textbook M42 canteen named Resch.

A unissued coconut canteen marked HRE 43 indicating production by Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen. The canteen is in very good condition together with its matching cup – impossible to upgrade!

Very nice late war ZF4 scope for use with the G43. The Scope is in very good used condition, optics are clear but could be cleaned. The scope is engraved L indicating Luftwaffe issue. Nice set!

Beautiful second model Luftwaffe dagger in very good condition. The dagger retains its original portepee and hanger in the same very good condition. The blade is in great condition without dents or damages. The dagger is a great example of a unmarked second model Luftwaffe dagger in very good, near mint condition!

Very nice and mint shell dressing pouch. Complete with its carrying sling and without post war black paint. The pouch is nicely dated 1943!

A great pair of mid to late war felt boots in near mint condition. Typical eastern front footwear worn and issued with the reversible, non reversible and charkov parkas. The pair is a nice large 32 which translates to a modern EU 45. Both soles still retain their factory applied rubber soles. They are in great dusty but unissued condition, perfect on a mannequin! Hard to find a great pair in this condition and size!

Textbook pre war K98 bayonet maker marked and dated S/172 1937 indicating production by Carl Eickhorn. The bayonet is in good used condition with its originally applied pre war bayonet frog with aluminum hardware.

Very nice and nearly complete US WWII first aid kit. Very rare to find filled with most of its original components!

Hard to upgrade matching bayonet marked cof 43 indicating production by Waffenfabrik Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The bayonet is matching to its scabbard with the serial 4319 and has nice clean wooden grips. The bayonet is in very good uncleaned, unsharpened and matching (!) condition.

Superb late war K98 bayonet marked crs 44 indicating production by Paul Weyersberg & Co in 1944. The bayonet is in very good condition retaining most if not all of the factory finish and very nice bright red grips that would be very hard to upgrade!

Very nice pre war bayonet frog marked Otto Jahnke Berlin S42 1937.
