USAAF B-4 flight bag
USAAF B-4 flight bag which is like a portable wardrobe and can contain several garments such as ‘best dress’ uniforms which needed to be kept tidy. There are two damages to the zippers which are pictured but the zippers are in working condition. The handle features a tag ID’ed to the veteran who served in the 38th Bomb group. During World War II the 38th Bomb Group was a medium bombardment group operating in the Southwest Pacific Area (SWPA) as a B-25 Mitchell unit assigned to Fifth Air Force.

Textbook early/first pattern tropical rucksack with full webbing construction dated 1942. The rucksack is in overall good condition and has no major damages. Sadly the frontal connector straps are missing but this is virtually always the case. Nice rarer pattern rucksack!

Textbook late war simplified construction without a tongue where the holes are punctured into the belt itself, this is sometimes referred to as a M44 belt. The belt is nicely marked RBNr. 0/0564/0005 which indicates production by an unknown manufacturer. The belt is a good mannequin size which measures 90cm in length and is therefore marked “90”. Nice example!

The canteen itself, the strap and cover are all nicely marked EEF 41 which indicates production by Ewald Eigenbrod Aluminium-und Metallwarenfabrik, Freiling which is a uncommon maker to find! The canteen comes together with a nice black bakelite cup which is dated 1944. The cup could have been added post war but the canteen was found like this. Nice original 1L Labeflasche!

A very nice mid war belt buckle marked N&H 1942 indicating production by Nolle & Hueck, Lüdenscheid. The buckle is finished in Blaugrau paint thats also known as Einheitsfarbe. The buckle is the earliest example of a blue painted Heer buckle that I’ve found. These early blue buckles are referred to as being made and issued to the Kriegsmarine. Later in the war the blue Heer buckles started being issued to other branches and officially labeled Einheitskoppelschloss. Hard to find a early blue buckle!

The bayonet is matching to its scabbard with the serial 8483 (no suffix) and has nice clean bakelite grips. The bayonet is in good uncleaned, unsharpened and matching (!) condition.

Ammunition pouch set for a G43
A nice set exactly as would be issued to a G43 rifleman. One magazine pouch for two G43 magazines and one pouch for additional stripper clips for reloading. As the war progressed and materials became scarce it meant that the G43 was issued with only two magazines and one pouch from the start. Both pouches are nicely maker marked and are in the same unissued condition!
