Matching Waffen-SS shoulderstraps for a Unterscharführer der Panzergrenadiere
Matching lightly worn original pair of Waffen-SS NCO shoulderstraps for a Unterscharführer der Panzergrenadiere. The shoulderstraps are well executed and show the textbook mid war M40 construction one would expect. The straps are in very good, lightly worn condition and would easily match to a worn tunic. The straps feature the typical tresse and green rayon piping. These straps are the lowest NCO rank for sure seeing lots of action on the front line. A very nice matching pair that is highly sought after and only scarcely encountered nowadays!

Y-straps manufactured from British webbing in Wirtschaftsamt Litzmannstadt
These Y-straps are made in the Ghetto of Lodz, Poland which the Germans renamed into “Litzmannstadt”. They are made using parts of captured British equipment items. These British equipment items where left in 1940 when the British Expeditionary Force evacuated to the United Kingdom. The Germans sent these for recycling and a lot of work was put in disassembling every British equipment piece and recycling the individual parts into German army equipment. This Y-strap is a beautiful example of the equipment that was made in Litzmannstadt. The Y-strap is in stone mint condition and shows a lot of interesting British features and details into the construction. This is by far the best Litzmannstadt Y-strap I have ever seen and had the pleasure to offer and is impossible to upgrade!

This construction can be linked to maker dkk which would indicate production by Friedrich Offermann u. Söhne, Lederwarenfabrik, Bensberg. The pouches are both matching in cloth, stitching, hardware and leather. The pouches are executed in nice blue canvas with brown leather and grey/blueish canvas. The blue canvas has a red line in it on the back and has an interesting construction with many different thread colours in the construction. Rare(!) orange bakelite canteen cup F7/K
Incredibly rare original orange bakelite canteen cup. This is a rare opportunity to buy an original orange bakelite canteen cup. This example is beautifully marked with a MPD code which was typical for period produced bakelite items. The MPD code F7/K indicates production by a still unknown maker and the usage of urea resin (which is a certain type of Bakelite) with an organic filler material. The bakelite is still in a very good and rather smooth condition and the material isn’t heavily affected by all the years in the ground except for some discoloration which in my opinion could be further cleaned. The only damages are some tiny cracks at the top of the cup. Beautiful original and very rare example! This cup was found in Berlin recently together with 12 complete and 5 damaged cups. They were dug up underneath remnants of a concrete floor together with other canteen cups and butterdishes. In 15 years of collecting I’ve only found one example for my personal collection: this is only the second time I’ve been able to acquire one. I have kept 3 cups for my personal collection, other then these there are no other orange cups on the market that I am aware of. Rarer then most Knights Crosses: this is probably the rarest item I have had for sale in the 5 years that fjm44.com has been online! -
