Heinrich Laspe fought in the begin and during the Russian campaign as a member of Wiking 4./ᛋᛋ A.A. 5 s.Gr.W.Zug or 4. Kompanie ᛋᛋ Aufklärungs Abteilung 5. Laspe took the time to write down most of 1941 and 1942 in great detail. In addition to these written testimonials there are over 180 pictures illustrating his time in the Waffen-SS. Laspe is seen in many of the pictures of which a lot show awards, guns, buildings, camouflage uniforms and other interesting things. The picture set alone would be a great base to a book or further research! The grouping additionally comes with a portrait made in Paris in 1944 and a manual for the Gr.W. 34. The grouping has two award documents to Laspe, one Verwundetenabzeichen and one for the Nahkampfspange who he both earned during the battles in Normandy with Götz von Berlichingen. Also it comes with a period made birthday card that reads; Die Besten glückwünsche zum Geburtstag gefeiert an Der Invasionsfront. This unmolested example is in uncleaned/untouched condition and retains its original liner and partial chinstrap. The camouflage paint to the exterior which was immatucally painted around the decal remains up to 85%. The original decal also remains for approximately 85%. • Rare blue enameled M42 canteen by Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF)

Messkits and canteens enameled in these colours are attributed to be made by the Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF) run by Oskar Schindler. Messkits and canteens, unmarked, in these specific colours have been found in the old factory storage of the former DEF.  There are several other makers of enameled steel canteens and messkits but they all carry different characteristic features such as markings or specific colours. No other maker utilizes these light gray and blue colours and lacks markings. The light blue “wash” on top of the enamel is one of the typical features. A textbook late war canteen with 3 presstuds on the cover, riveted loops and a nice brown strap.  Rare to find combination!

The cover is a textbook oakleaf example with anodized aluminum hooks finished with single needle sewing machine. The helmet is a textbook Q66 marked example indicating production by Quist. The skirt of the helmet retains a scratched name. The helmet retains its original Quist Waffen-SS decal up to 70%. The helmets shell shows imprint of the cover and the hooks. The helmet cover was published in Militaria Magazine’s famous issue about the SS-Hitlerjugend in august 1988. One can find a SS helmet and or a cover; but finding a original set that has always been together is near impossible. • Rare uniform removed Waffen-SS Hitlerjugend cufftitle

Rare original 12. SS-Panzerdivision Hitlerjugend cufftitle. These cufftitles were first issued in September 1944 to the veterans of the fierce Normandy battles. One of the men who were issued one of these was Otto Funk, and as mentioned in post war interviews he was also issued a document with his cufftitle. Where this document and his cuff are at this moment, is unknown. However having seen this document with my own eyes I am describing this as it is widely unknown who did, and who didn’t wear these cuff titles. Highly probable is that other members of division were issued these cuff titles after the September 1944, but this is the only story I could actually verify. This is a very, very rare original cufftitle that would be very hard, if not impossible to upgrade in this uniform removed condition.

They are incredibly rare, as most original Waffen-SS Panzer uniforms. As most Waffen-SS coveralls they are designed for short people. This was most probably worn by someone tall, incapable of wearing the coveralls as is. I believe the set could be put together but I’ve found them as a set and they both show equal wear. The set would be very nice for a early eastern front Waffen-SS Panzer mannequin!
