Canteens

A textbook steel M42 (Eis.) canteen in excellent condition. The canteen is nicely marked MN 43 indicating production by Menesa Metallindustrie GmbH. Neunkirchen-Saar. Very nice detail is bright green painted buckle on the straps. Textbook example which would be hard to upgrade!

Nice tropical M31 1L canteen or Labeflasche with webbing straps in slightly used condition. The flask itself is nicely marked ESB 42 which indicates production by Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin in 1942. 

Beautiful and very rare canteen most probably made by the Dutch company VerBliFa (De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken) during the German occupation. The canteen is in used but good condition. VerBliFa (De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken) was the main manufacturer of the Dutch pre 1940 army mess kits, canteens and other stuff, these items were made in the exact same way. Stamped sheet metal and then tinned! The canteen is missing its cup. On the back of the harness a fork is fitted from the four piece cutlery set which has been there since the end of the war. The canteen is unmarked which is often the case with these Dutch produced canteens. Maybe one of the rarest variant of the M42 canteen there is, and for sure one of the best canteens I have ever offered!

Named Aluminium M31 canteen marked FWBN 41 indicating production by. The canteen is in very good, lightly used condition. Very hard to find a named example!

Excellent textbook late war M31 (Feldflasche) canteen with aluminium flask in stone mint unissued condition. The flask and the felt cover are both nicely marked EEF 41 which indicates production by Ewald Eigenbrod Aluminium-und Metallwarenfabrik, Freiling  in 1943. In textbook configuration with an excellent black urea resin (type of bakelite) cup marked 46/S which is usual for this manufacturer. Excellent matching canteen in a condition that would be very hard to upgrade!

Nice late war large 1L capacity canteen or “1L Labeflasche” in good used condition. The canteen itself is nicely marked WWL 42 which indicates production by Wilhelm Wiesenauer, Aluminiumwarenfabrik Ludwigsburg in 1942. WWL is an extremely rare to find maker and for me the second example I encountered! The canteen is in overall good condition without damages and comes in its original configuration with a black phenolic resin cup!

Nice original large 1L aluminium canteen or Labeflasche in good condition. The canteen itself, the strap and cover are all nicely marked EEF 41 which indicates production by Ewald Eigenbrod Aluminium-und Metallwarenfabrik, Freiling which is a uncommon maker to find! The canteen comes together with a nice black bakelite cup which is dated 1944. The cup could have been added post war but the canteen was found like this. Nice original 1L Labeflasche!

Late war M42 canteen in overall good condition. The flask itself is nicely marked SMM 43 which indicates production by Süddeutsche Metallwarenfabrik, Mussbach in 1943. The canteen comes in a typical late war configuration with a black bakelite cup marked gfc 1944. Nice late war example!

Very nice early aluminium drinking cup which would go together with pre M31 pattern and political or HJ canteens. This example is nicely marked EEF 34 which indicates production by Ewald Eigenbrod Aluminium-und Metallwarenfabrik, Freiling in 1934! The cups is also marked with D.R.P. Srb. which indicates this cup was issued to the Deutsches Reichs Post (German postal office) in Saarbrücken. Very nice early and interesting cup!
