A very nice late war Waffen-SS belt buckle made by Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid. These buckles where made later in the war and came unmarked. A textbook buckle in great condition still retaining up to 95% of it’s original finish!

Nice original document grouping to Unteroffizier Paul Reichmann, Infanterie Regiment 57 which was a part of the 9. Infanterie Division which fought throughout the war. Starting may 10 1940, 9.ID crossed Luxembourg into Belgium with the first major battles around Amiens and at the Somme. It then crossed the Oise river and was one of the first units to march into Paris. In June 1941 it was moved into action on the eastern front fighting at Mosastyr and broke through the Stalinlinie. It was well occupied until 1943 when it was ordered to defend the Kuban bridgehead. 9. October 1944 the division was reformed into the 9. Volksgrenadier Division which was moved west and soon to be put into battle during the Ardennes offensive. On 24. December 1944 the division assembled in Manderscheid where it was sent into the offensive fighting at Bastogne, Wilz and Vianden.

The grouping consists of three award documents for the Eisernez Kreuz 2. Klasse, Winterschlacht im Osten and the Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber. The EK2 document is signed by Knights Cross wearer Generalmajor Siegmund Freiherr von Schleinitz. The documents are accompanied with a set of matching and cyphered shoulderstraps to Infanterie Regiment 57.

A very nice original document set with matching shoulderstraps for a very interesting unit!

Death card of Funker Paul Dürr. Was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge. Dürr was 18 years old and was killed in action in Bertogne, Belgium on 25.12.1944. Was Later burried in Recogne, Belgium. 

Textbook M35 helmet produced to M40 specifications marked NS62 indicating production by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke, Schwerte. This M35 helmet was produced in 1940 during the switchover to the M40 type helmet. Hence it was produced with one decal and a dull and slightly textured finish. These helmet where only produced for a few months and are not to be confused with a reissue type helmet. The helmet is in very good untouched condition with 90% of the decal and 90% of the factory paint remaining. The helmet is complete with its factory fitted reinforced aluminum liner and chinstrap. Very nice example in good untouched condition – just how I like them most!

Rare original Luftwaffe issue camouflage smock as made for members of the Hermann Göring Division. Typical garment modeled after the Waffen-SS M38 smock with captured Italian Telo Mimetico material. The smock is in good used condition and the fabric is strong with vibrant but slightly faded colours. Natural wear to the full garment with a stain on the right sleeve that looks like dried blood. The garment is a textbook unit made piece that was made in a small quantity with many period images of these smocks in wear ranging from wear in Italy to the eventual surrender in the Netherlands. The garment is a one looker wartime sewn example without postwar alterations. All of the single seam stitching is old and shows the age one would like to see. Superb and rare piece that would be very hard to upgrade and easily a centerpiece in any camouflage collection!

A nice matching pair of MP38 u. MP40 magazine pouches marked Otto Koberstein Landsberg 1942 indicating production by Otto Koberstein Landsberg. The pouches are in good unissued condition as pictured! The leather on the pouches is supple and the canvas is strong. One of the pouches was most probably on top hence the slight difference in aging. The set still has the original red pencil lines at all the leather fixtures. A great set for a combat mannequin that would be very hard to upgrade!

Nice and uncommon straight stitched P38 soft-shell holster maker marked bdr44 indicating production by Richard Ehrhardt, Lederwarenfabrik, Poessneck, Thuringen.

Nice original bakelite rain cover or Okularschütz. Nicely marked WaA and a nice detail is that the often shiny bakelite is finished with a non reflective black paint.

Complete, mint and matching 7×50 power binoculars with all parts and straps maker marked bmk indicating production by Srb & Stys Fabrik Praziser Messinstrumente, Prague. The binoculars are very clear and well collimated. The right ocular still has the Strichplatte in place. No double vision, no haze, no mold inside. The case is complete with all straps. These binoculars where favored by combat officers, as they gave a long and clear range. A very nice pair of binoculars complete with its matching case that would be impossible to upgrade!

Steel German M31 helmet liner for a size 66 shell with a headsize 59.

Rare original Erdsprechgerät in good used condition. The Erdsprechgerät was a device used in the case of a broken field phone connection due to shrapnel for instance. The Erdsprechgerät is complete with the microphone and headset. The headset has a damaged outer cable but the inside looks fine. Very hard to find Erdsprechgerät with its original and undamaged case!

Tabbed steel Heer belt buckle marked R. Sieper & Sohne Lüdenscheid 1940. The buckle still retains most if not all of its factory green paint. Textbook buckle!

Heavily used Soldbuch by Wachtmeister Wilhelm Hentrich, born on 23.5.1918 in Heldra / Dtsl. Hentrich has served in the Heer throughout the war with the exception of a few hospital admissions. This Soldbuch was issued at the beginning of the war. This Soldbuch  has been carried by him for the entire duration of the war. Very interesting detail is pages 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the original Soldbuch were so worn out that for these pages there is an “Ersatzausfertigung” created on 20.4.1945.

Normally a completely new Soldbuch was issued (Zweit or Ersatzausfertigung) but this one was given on a very late date during the war, only the first four pages were replaced. These pages are fairly concise, especially when it comes to which units he served during the war. There, however many notes / Eintragungen in the soldbuch which are stamped with “Schwere Artillerie-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 309 ”, and the Zahlmeisterei notes on page 18 (and also EKM data on page 1) we can see that he served in it during the outbreak of the war Artillerie-Regiment 45 and that somewhere in early 1940, probably before May 1940 he was transferred to the Artillerie-Regiment 152. This is a perfect match as many notes in the Soldbuch are stamped “Schwere Artillerie-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 309”, which provided troops for both Artillery Regiments when they were stationed at the Westwall in the early days of the war and took part in the campaign through France in May 1940.

In 1941 A.R. 152 participated in Operation Barbarossa and  the invasion of Russia. Already in the first month Hentrich was wounded by shrapnel and was hospitalized until October of that year. For his injury he was rewarded with the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz. In August and September of 1942, he was admitted to hospital again but due to damage, the reason is unclear for some reason. His unit fought in 1942 and 1943 on the eastern front in the Orel and Newel areas. The exact date when Hentrich will be transferred to the Artillerie-Regiment 198 is unclear, but I suspect late 1944.

As a soldier now on the front line, he is submitted to the IV Batterie of the Artillerie-Regiment 198, which is part of the 98 Infanterie-Division. This division was fighting in Italy in the Rimini area and was heavily involved in the fighting in August and September 1944. At the end of 1944 the division then withdraws to the Apennin position and fight back to the Senio River. During this fighting, Hentrich is awarded the KVK II Class on 30.1.1945. In April of 1945 Hentrich was promoted to Wachtmeister, his unit then retreats across the Po river in the direction of the pre-Alps, where the division eventually capitulates.
