  • Named gasmask to UFFZ Brauwer Artillerie Regiment 1716

A interesting German gasmask and its canister in very good condition. It is named to Unteroffizier H. Brauwer of ArtillerieRegiment 1716. Artillerie Regiment 1716 played a vital role in the battle for Normandy. Spread on the rear flank of Omaha– and Sword beach. Also stationed in Breville and Merville where the British 6th Airborne division landed. One or two kilometers from the beaches or in the middle of the British drop zone they must have had a lot of action on June 6, 1944. A can from my personal collection, in very good, lightly used condition with a VERY interesting unit marking! A must have for any D-day collector!

  • Cased US Bronze Star medal named Ralph R. Harper

    New

Cased US Bronze Star medal named Ralph R. Harper in good condition. Ralph R. Harper enlisted on January 11th 1942. His ASN was 13047857

PFC Ralph R. Harper, service number 13047857, served as an infantryman in Company B of the 110th Infantry Regiment, part of the 28th Infantry Division known as the Bloody Bucket. During the autumn of 1944, his unit was positioned along a thin defensive line in Luxembourg. On December 16, the German Army launched the massive Ardennes Offensive, now known as the Battle of the Bulge, directly into Ralph’s sector. His company was tasked with a desperate “hold at all costs” mission in the towns of Marnach and Clervaux to delay German tanks. After days of intense combat against overwhelming armored forces, Company B was surrounded and overran. Ralph was officially reported Missing in Action on December 20, 1944, but was actually captured and held as a Prisoner of War at Stalag 4B Mühlberg in Germany. He remained in captivity until the spring of 1945, when he was liberated and returned to American military control on May 29, 1945. I have compiled all the information I found in morning reports researching his name and ASN.

  • Published German ID disc or Erkennungsmarke marked CEM.CR.AUSB.KP.MOT. C.E.U.A.B. 309

    New

Published German ID disc or Erkennungsmarke marked CEM.CR.AUSB.KP.MOT. C.E.U.A.B. 309. Interesting example, the maker of this tag lacked a proper G stamp which is probably one of the most used in the whole set. He used a C instead. So the tag should read; Gemischte Granatwerfer Ausbildungs Kompanie Motorisiert; Grenadier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 309 which supplied troops to the 153 and 463 division. Later in 1943 it was added to Grenadier Feldausbildungs Regiment 218 on the Krim. The Bataillon was then renamed to Grenadier-Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 309 and was mobilised in 1945 with the 463 Division.

The Erkennungsmarke is featured on page 75 of the reference book Deutsche Erkennungsmarken by Jean Höidal. The number of the back corresponds with the number in the book.

  • Rare German ID disc or Erkennungsmarke marked Batt. K5 (E) 712 – Eisenbahn-Batterie 712

    New

Rare German ID disc or Erkennungsmarke marked Batt. K5 (E) 712 indicating Eisenbahn-Batterie 712 which was equipped with two 28 cm (E) 5 guns. This battery was part of the 16. Armee during the Westfeldzug. After that it was stationed as a coastal defence unit near the English channel. In february 1944 it was moved to Italy with Heeresgruppe C. There it saw action positioned at Ciampino south of Rome. It delivered 278 shots aimed at Anzio and Nettuno. After the Allies marched on Rome both guns retreated on june 6 1944 and where subsequently destroyed at Civititaveccia due to destroyed railroads. They were captured by the Americans and sent to the USA for research. They used the two destroyed wrecks to build one functioning example. The Eisenbahn batterie 712 was then outfitted with two captured French 24 CM (E) 557(f) guns. September 1944 it was refitted with two 28 cm guns and would see action in Italy again. This is a rare to find Erkennungsmarke!

A rare example!

  • CKL71 M38 Fallschirmjäger helmet from the woodwork in Schoonebeek NL

Stunning untouched late war M38 paratrooper or Fallschirmjäger helmet marked CKL71 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke Thale. This helmet was obtained from the woodwork, today, in Schoonebeek near the German border in the northern Netherlands. The helmet most probably belonged to a member of the 1. Fallschirmjägerarmee which fought in the north of the Netherlands, early in 1945. The helmet is a typical late war example with simplified chinstrap and slotted vented bolts. The helmet retains its original liner and chinstrap which have never been removed from the helmet. The helmet is a nice large size 71 shell. The liner is named Supper. The stitching in the lining crown is gone. The chinstrap is in a single piece and has a handsewn period repair near the friction buckle. The helmet is externally field repainted two times; one in a grey blue and later covered in a dark green brush applied camouflage paint finish with a finger print on the right side edge. The helmet was found by me today and has never been in a collection before. Surely a attractive late war paratrooper helmet that would be a nice addition to any collection!

  • Aluminium MG34 u. MG42 ammunition case in two tone camouflage

Stunning aluminium MG34 u. MG42 ammunition case in factory brown/blue camouflage with a later field applied tan camouflage. The case is a nice early example with a wartime tan camouflage finish. The case was originally found in Saint-Côme-du-Mont, right in the middle of the dropzones for the 101st Airborne Division in Normandy. The case has wartime applied stencils for the E for Ersatzteilkasten and a additional Gurtfuller marking on the top indicating it would have once housed the belt loader. The closing clasp is broken which is typical for these early cases. The case is a beautiful camouflaged example that would be very hard to upgrade and a nice honest piece!

  • MG34 u. MG42 MGZ34 optics case in two tone camouflage

MG34 u. MG42 MGZ34 optics case in two tone camouflage. Hard to find optical case for the MGZ34 Lafette optics for the MG34. The case retains the original inserts and backstraps. The case has a small shrapnel damage on the lid going from the inside out indicating it was open when it was struck. This is the first time I have seen one of these cases in the sought after camouflage paint. The pull tab of the closing latch is a period replacement made out of a piece of leather. Really interesting example in used condition in the typical two tone camouflage pattern which can be attributed to FJR6!
