M43 Tunic – Heer – Wool – Private purchase insignia
Heer Infanterie M43 field blouse or Feldbluse. This tunic was made in 1944 and is in a medium size. It still retains all the period sewn/applied insignia. The applied insignia on this tunic are for a regular soldier in a Infanterie unit. The insignia are imo all period applied private purchase. Insignia like this was often applied like this for a “smart” look which could be placed within the same “fashion” of the shortened tunics. These insignia are all handsewn and one can still see the original stitches of the factory applied insignia under them. The shoulder boards are also a private purchase made set and not a mismatch. One of the sides has bleached through UV light over a period of 70 years. When one looks under the shoulder boards one clearly sees the “shade”. This is the same for the Ostfront and Kriegsverdienstenkreuz ribbon bar above his left breast pocket. The insignia are a very unusual and interesting variation on the usual factory applied insignia. The tunic does not appear to have been shortened. All the buttons are factory sewn to the tunic. A nice and unique tunic in good condition with all period applied insignia!
