Butterdish – 1WK K 1942
The butterdish or “Fettbuchse” was the issue container for the German butter ration. The Germans where issued a amount of butter with their rations. Most standard butterdishes open in 1/4th of a turn and are made of bakelite.

Thread: Course, small lid opens in 1/3 turn. Big lid 1 3/4 turn.
Weight: 88 grams
Material: Bakelite
Notes: It is unknown what the purpose of the small lid was. Some speculate it was to distribute salt or spices. It is also said that this is the “tropical” version of the Fettbuchse.
