Issue sport shoes – Sportschuh
The German army placed a lot of importance on the physical fitness of their troops. These shoes where issued to most of the troops and they where used in a lot of different ways. They where favored in encampments to relieve the feet of the heavy field boots. Many period pictures show these boots worn when soldiers where outside their duties. These boots where also sometimes referred to as Laufschuh or walking shoe.
