The Y-straps are manufactured in 1940 and shows a nice and interesting factory mix of steel and aluminium hardware. Very rare Y-strap which would be hard to upgrade!

I have a small number of matching examples all in the same condition. Some have orange paint remnants wich could be removed or just used/displayed as is. A nice and typical ‘pocket litter’ item which was often found with the troops fighting at the front lines!

    Typical pre war wristwatch as worn by German soldiers during the second world war. Unlike some ranks or jobs in the Wehrmacht; a lot of soldiers were not issued wristwatches, yet it was a important thing to have. Especially for combat leaders, paratroopers and artillerymen. The watch is not in working condition yet it could probably be serviced to get it working. The watch retains its original strap and it would easily be the finishing touch to any mannequin; German, American, British, Canadian or even Russian. Wristwatches have always been and still are the most encounterable loot and pocket litter; even today.

The pouch features two paper labels, one to the back and one on the inside. Both labels name this pouch to Friedr. (Friedrich) Ohrhallinger, Gend. (Gendarmerie) Beamter, Lambach, Salzburgerstr. (Salzburgerstrasse) which makes this a very nice and interesting named example!

The holster is a very nice early example dated 1934 manufactured out of a high quality brown coloured leather with the internal pockets for the take down tool and for the cleaning rod which is a rare thing to encounter. The holster is nicely marked Carl Heinichen, Dresden 1934 together with a typical pre war style WaA. The holster has a nicely done period repair/reinforcement to the back at one of the belt loops. The holster is on the inside named to a US vet; Garvin Lamb 35900443 which makes this a very interesting piece for further research. Excellent very early example!

    Rare allied D-Day map set ‘Invade Mecum’. This set was issued to platoon commanders and contained an intricate set of maps of Normandy. Next to the maps are a set of intelligence manuals containing area information including detailed maps which show terrain, roads, buildings and their specific use. An officer’s set of military intelligence manuals for Normandy and Pas de Calais, distributed for the D-Day landings and compiled by the British Directorate of Military Survey, with maps and details of the towns, roads, industries and railways, sourced from both resistance information and from standard French mapping. These guides provided essential information for any unit moving through the countryside, the text and maps give copious details of each town and village. The efficiency and completeness of these manuals demonstrate the state and extent of the preparedness of the Allies for the Invasion of Europe. Volumes 1,2 and 5, (not present here), covered Brittany and other regions of France. These sets were issued to both Officers, and Platoon Commanders. A very rare set which would compliment any D-Day related collection!

The cap was found in a cloth processing plant and has not been touched or altered since. The cocarde is still originally sewn to the cap but is void of a eagle. Looking at the cocarde I think this is a perfect match if one would choose to restore it.
